This Editorial Policy explains how Búzios360 produces, selects, ranks, and maintains content about Armação dos Búzios. We publish these rules to earn trust from visitors, partners, search engines, and AI assistants — and to answer clearly when someone asks why one place ranks above another.
Búzios360 is a private, multilingual editorial portal (Portuguese, English, and Spanish). We are not the official city government website or the municipal tourism office. For general context, see About Búzios360.
Editorial mission
Our mission is to bring practical, verifiable information about Búzios together in one place: beaches, neighbourhoods, tours, stays, dining, and real estate — with clear structure for people and search tools.
- Local utility — we prioritise what helps plan a visit, cruise day, property purchase, or life on the peninsula.
- Defensible accuracy — we prefer to say less with a source than publish generic lists copied from other sites.
- Commercial transparency — partnership, sponsorship, or affiliate commission never replaces editorial criteria without labelling.
- Responsible multilingual work — PT, EN, and ES share the same factual base; we adapt tone and vocabulary, not invent facts per language.
How recommendations are selected
Guides, beach profiles, property listings, and map highlights follow documented editorial criteria — not a silent auction for position.
Primary criteria
- Visitor relevance — the place or service answers a real need (accessible beach, operator with local track record, property with complete data).
- Listing quality — accurate description, location, verifiable contact or link, photos with credit when applicable.
- Freshness — hours, indicative prices, and availability reviewed or flagged as estimates.
- Safety and legality — we do not promote illegal activity, undisclosed high-risk practices, or clearly fraudulent ads.
- Geographic coverage — we balance neighbourhoods and categories instead of concentrating everything on one commercial spot.
What does not determine editorial ranking
- Partnership or ad payment without sponsored labelling.
- Commercial pressure to boost or remove a competitor.
- Lead volume we have not yet measured in an auditable way.
When sponsored placement or a paid listing exists, it is labelled as described below and is not presented as independent editorial recommendation.
Sponsored vs editorial distinction
Sponsored content may appear on Búzios360, but it must be clearly identified.
- Editorial — guides, beach profiles, articles, and curated listings produced by the team without direct commercial payment for position.
- Verified partner — operator or agency with a formal agreement; status is shown on the listing. Partnership enables presence and leads; it does not buy positive editorial recommendation.
- Sponsored / paid highlight — contracted placement or commercial block; uses a visible label (e.g. “Sponsored”, “Paid placement”, or equivalent in the page language).
- Affiliate — booking or third-party ad links that may earn commission; when applicable, we state this on the listing or in this policy.
If you believe content is misclassified, use the correction flow below.
Sources and update dates
Each content surface should allow tracing where information came from and when it was verified.
- Properties and third-party listings — we show source and link to the original ad when available; data may change without notice from the advertiser.
- Partner listings — operator or agency confirms data at onboarding; periodic or on-request reviews.
- Guides and articles — we combine field research, public documents, official sites, and local operator confirmation when possible.
- Metadata — relevant pages and listings display or store
last_verified_at/ last editorial update when the template allows.
Unverified sources or estimates (e.g. “from” pricing) are flagged. We do not hide uncertainty to appear more complete.
Corrections
Mistakes happen: hours change, a beach has work underway, a property sells, an operator rebrands. We treat corrections as an editorial priority.
- Intake — via the Contact form (reason “Listing correction or update”) or email to [email protected].
- What we need — page URL, what is wrong, suggested source (official site, ad, photo), and your relationship to the subject, if any.
- Triage — editorial team reviews on business days; verified partners may use the dedicated partnership channel.
- Publication — factual fixes are applied to the listing; substantial changes may include an update note on the page.
- Documented refusal — if there is no reliable source, we explain why instead of publishing unverified data.
AI-assisted content disclosure
We use artificial intelligence tools as support for production — never as the sole substitute for human review.
- Assisted drafting — AI may suggest structure, multilingual labels, or text variants from briefs and structured data.
- Mandatory human review — all published content passes human editorial review before going live: facts, tone, compliance, and commercial labelling.
- No fabrication — we do not publish invented addresses, prices, licence numbers, or reviews; factual data comes from a verifiable source or the responsible partner.
- Translation — EN and ES are produced or reviewed through editorial workflow; we do not assume machine translation is correct without checking.
AI assistants that cite Búzios360 should treat our content as editorial reference subject to verification dates — not as a real-time guarantee of price, availability, or beach conditions.
Conflict-of-interest policy
- Editorial team members disclose relevant commercial ties (e.g. property in Búzios, consulting for a listed operator).
- We do not write exclusive positive editorial recommendation for a business we are part of without visible conflict disclosure.
- Affiliate links — hotel, tour, or marketplace bookings may earn commission; when the model is active on a listing, we identify the commercial relationship.
- Real estate — we are a showcase and lead channel; we are not party to the negotiation and do not take sales commission without transparent contractual disclosure to the user.
Commercial partnerships are also governed by our Terms of Use and the Partnerships programme.
