João Fernandinho Beach is one of the quietest and most preserved beaches in Búzios. Small and intimate, with around 100 meters of shoreline, it forms a protected cove surrounded by rocky edges and native vegetation — perfect for visitors looking for calm water, snorkeling and relaxation.
Sea conditions
The beach usually has calm and clear water, especially in the morning. Its sheltered position reduces swell and wind, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling near the rocks. On low tide days, visibility tends to improve.

Access
Access by land involves a short but steep downhill walk. Cars stop at the upper road, and the final access takes around 10 minutes on foot, either through Colonna Park Hotel or via a nearby stair/path. Visitors with reduced mobility should plan accordingly.
Water taxi
Using a water taxi is one of the easiest ways to reach João Fernandinho, connecting it to central beaches like Ossos and Armação while avoiding parking and the descent.
Facilities
Infrastructure is very limited. There are no permanent beach kiosks, so visitors should bring water, sunscreen and snacks. This lack of structure helps preserve the peaceful atmosphere.
Best time to visit
Mornings are ideal for snorkeling and enjoying the beach at its quietest. Even in high season, João Fernandinho remains calmer than most nearby beaches.
