About

Tartaruga Beach is one of the most family-friendly and well-structured beaches in Búzios. Located between Ponta da Sapata and Ponta da Cruz, it forms a long, sheltered cove of about 2 km, with calm, warm and clear waters.

Sea conditions

The sea is usually calm and protected, making it ideal for families, beginners in water sports and relaxed swimming. Water visibility is often excellent, especially near the rocky edges.

Access

Access is via a paved road about 1.5 km from José Bento Ribeiro Avenue, or by water taxi from central beaches.

The beach offers excellent infrastructure, including kiosks, beachfront restaurants, public restrooms, guarded parking and water sports rentals.

Nature and conservation

The right side of the beach borders the Costa do Sol State Park, a protected area that helps preserve local marine ecosystems.

Best time to visit

Open year-round, mornings are usually calmer. During high season, arriving early is recommended.
